Privacy
TripKeeper is a private website for group trips. Trip organizers use it to collect the details they need to get everyone there and back safely. This page explains what we collect, who can see it, and when it's deleted.
What we collect
What you type on your Traveler page: your name and date of birth, passport details and a photo of your passport, contact details, an emergency contact, medications, allergies and medical conditions, health insurance and a photo of your card, TSA PreCheck and Global Entry (yes or no), who you'd like to room with, your flight booking reference and seats, and your signature on the trip rules. Also your payment plan and the payments you report. We don't take payments on the site and never see bank or card details.
Who can see it
- You.
- Your trip organizer (the chaperone running your trip), for your trip only.
- The TripKeeper administrator, who runs the site, to fix problems. Each time the administrator opens a traveler's details it's recorded, and your organizer can see that record.
- Other travelers on your trip see only your nickname (or first name), your seats on the group flights and your room group, on the Group page. You can hide yourself from that page in the Flight section of your Traveler page.
Organizers and the administrator must use an authenticator app to sign in. Nobody else can see your details, and trip information is shown only to people on that trip.
Passport check
When you add a passport photo, we send it with the details you typed to Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to catch typos. We keep only the result (whether they match, and which detail to double-check), not what the AI read from the photo.
Services we use
Supabase stores the data and files (files are private and opened only through links that expire within minutes). Vercel runs the website. Resend sends our emails, which never include your passport, medical or payment details. Anthropic runs the passport check. There are no ads and no tracking or analytics on signed-in pages.
When it's deleted
After your trip, we delete your details, files and account 30 days after the return date, unless your organizer has set a different period. You can ask your organizer to delete something sooner.
